Mission Statement

To help prepare students for success, the Medaille College IT Department integrates meaningful experiences with technology into teaching, learning, and all services that support student achievement. The IT Department is committed to building a "one college" technology model that serves all campus locations and the online environment.

About the IT Staff

  • Robert D. Chyka, MBA

    Chief Information Officer

    Bob's responsibilities include overseeing the development, implementation, and operation of information technology that supports Medaille College's strategies and goals.

    Bob oversees the information systems and infrastructure of the college and is responsible for establishing information related standards to facilitate management control over all technology resources.

  • Peter M. Fay

    Network Engineer

    Peter's responsibilities include design, administration, and support of the network, voice, and systems infrastructure.  He has been with Medaille College since May 2015.

    Manager, Academic Computing Centers (ACC) - Buffalo Campus

    Chet's responsibilities include the acquisition, configuration, updating, security and troubleshooting of all classroom and community-access PCs on the Buffalo campus. These areas include the PC lab, PC classrooms, Library, Academic Support Center, Residence Halls, adjunct faculty workrooms, student Club Room, SGA office and the Commons lounge.

    System support of the Active Directory database with Group Policy configuration and Symantec Endpoint Protection administration are also strategic areas of Chet's responsibility.

    An employee of the College's IT team since 1997, his previous work experience has been in local and county government as well as with regional public service agencies.

  • Chris McDermott

    Senior Programmer/Software Developer

    Chris is responsible for designing, developing, modifying and debugging of computer programs for functional areas at Medaille.  He also analyzes existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, performs coding and tests/debugs programs.  Chris provides analysis for the design and use of relational databases and is responsible for web application integration and design.

    User Support Manager

    Arnold's responsibilities include Supervision of Colleges Helpdesk, Supervision IT technicians in the installation of software and hardware, Ordering and invoice maintenance, Active Directory Maintenance.

    Banner System Administrator

    Anita provides an array of technical assistance to members of the Medaille community, supporting their technology needs at the Helpdesk on the Buffalo Campus. She has been an employee of Medaille College since 1998; and in the IT Department since 2006.

  • Steven Ansell

    Web Developer

    Steve works as a web developer for the Medaille College websites and has been an employee of Medaille College since 2006.

    Instructional Technology Specialist

    Ray provides support for the operations of the College computer labs, PC classrooms, multimedia equipment and audio-visual equipment on the Buffalo campus. Ray joined the College's IT staff in the Fall of 2011.
