The economy in Buffalo is directly affected by higher education from the area including how schools keep their students in the area. Supplying a foundation to support their careers while helping an individuals find jobs and starts their life is important. Having more opportunities in Buffalo to work will help keep people within the region, to raise a family, and provide future prospects. There are many ways that the region is attempting to retain these students and provide the resources to keep them in the area. Buffalo once was a thriving community, but now the goal is to become what it once was. The future is dependent on how Buffalo plans to retain the resources for jobs.

Applying the strategies from the past can only make a stronger presence and basis for Buffalo to build onto the future. Having a thriving economy and people spending in the right places, is the first step needed to become a thriving community. Creating a diverse environment where everyone fits in creates an attractive feeling to the city and staying in the area.
How has education in Buffalo changed?
Offering careers within the available majors offered at area colleges, would present an appealing reason to stay in the area. We must try to keep the citizens in the Buffalo region. The colleges that offer the jobs in the area have changed and made the resources more technologically advanced and more hands on. Giving the chance to work hands on within the area helps everyone to get their name out and to possible get a job. In the past colleges didn’t have the connections with big businesses.
What positive aspects of education can be implemented to once again make Buffalo a thriving community?
Positive aspects of education that can make Buffalo a thriving community again would be having the access to big business around the area that let undergraduates come in and use resources. Colleges are continuing to attempt to retain the current students in the area as well as attract more students for the future. Certain schools have connection with sports teams and give them internships and show them the ropes on managing a team.
Envision for the Future

Hopefully within the next 30 years we can make drastic changes to the economy around the Buffalo and being able to keep jobs in this area. A large supporter that gives out local jobs is University of Buffalo. They are the regions sixth largest employer and every 1 million dollars spent on research at the university it generates 29 jobs in the Western New York. In the past year of 2007 UB was able to develop $323.4 million on research have has been increase every year.
Recently UB has set a plan for 2020 to increase the growth in the Buffalo region. Hoping to create jobs, new business, and bring an active presence to the downtown area. There are three types of characteristics when it comes to this project and they are industrious, ingenious and transformative thinking. Being born in the area, having a family and staying to make a career makes an impact on the region. It supports the economy and gives back a good reputation to the city of Buffalo.
